Sephora Haul

I recently stocked up on a huge amount of products from Sephora that are both new for me and some of my favorites from the past.

Here they are!

Bumble & Bumble Repair Blow Dry

I got this creamy serum as a sample size in a Sephora package and wrote about it a in a post a few months ago. I squeezed literally every drop out of the sample size and I am so excited that I have a huge one to last me longer now! I have used a lot of pre blow dry products and this is hands down my favorite. From the smell, to the texture, and how well this stuff repairs my hair I am in loveee. It is a little pricy at $30 a bottle but I think it is so worth it. This is a must have in my book.

Do you have any favorite B&B products? Im dying to try more.

Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Luminizer (01-Stardust)  & Benefit Watt’s Up! Cream to Powder Luminizer

Ok, so, I haven’t gotten a chance to use the Sephora brand luminizer ($14) on my face in a look yet because I am obsessed with Watt’s Up! ($30)  but I’ve tested it on my hand and it seems ok. Sephora’s is much more subtle than Watt’s Up! and is more loose, thin, and less pigmented than Benefit’s but I guess that could have been expected. My first luminizing shimmery product was NARS’s Orgasm illuminator, and then I moved on to the very highly rated & recommended Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. I have used and loved those two products many a day but in my opinion they don’t hold a candle to Watt’s Up! Unlike Orgasm, which can be too rosy, and Opal, which I feel can really enhance blemishes and pores, Watt’s Up! just does exactly what it is supposed to do. I am not sure where exactly the makers saw the cream to powder transition but how blend-able the stick is is certainly noticeable. This is also the perfect luminizer because of how the stick makes placement specific as opposed to powders or creams (even though this is both??). Watt’s Up! is a little pricy for a product you definitely could go a whole life time without using but is about mid range as far as luminizers go (the most expensive on Sephora’s website is $63). Bottom line this is the perfect product to make you feel like a shimmery summer goddess and perfect if you’re into the new “strobing” trend.

Sephora Collection Smart Liner ($14)

I have tried many a liquid eyeliner but always revert back to my favorite L’Oreal Infallible liner. This one may break me out of my habit. It is clear that I bought the liner for the shape of the bottle. I refuse to believe that any first time purchaser of this product picked it up for any other reason. However, as soon as I put it in my hand to use it, it no longer made sense to me why any other liner was not shaped as this one. It perfectly fit into my hand and it kind of makes me feel invincible as far as not messing up my wing goes. The liner itself is also really good. Not too runny and wet and it stays in place rather well. There are definitely many products like this one that draw consumers in by their outward appearance. This one actually has purpose.

Smashbox Photo Finish  Foundation Primer ($16)

I have a bunch of primers much cheaper than the full sized version of this one, and I could never really bring myself to buy it for some reason. I tried a sample packet and liked it enough to finally take the plunge. I still only got the travel size but I think it will do for now. The product works really well, it smooths away pores and I will admit it really kept my makeup in place throughout the day. This primer is in almost every youtube beauty bloggers videos and I couldn’t run from it anymore but I am glad I’ve stopped.

Has anyone tried the other kinds?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate ($21)

I have tried every medium of brow makeup and can’t really ever choose a favorite product. I do like the Brow Wiz for a more natural look and for the summer. It is lighter feeling as opposed to dip brow or liquid eyebrow corrector which makes it perfect for the warm weather.

Smashbox High Definition Concealer in Fair/Light ($23)

My sister had this concealer and I borrowed it and loved it. I go through concealer more than anything else I feel like and went straight for this one when I realized I needed a new one. I guess I was wrong about the color that I thought she used because I was pretty disappointed when I first used it. I think a big problem at first is the applicator. The container is similar to a squeeze lip gloss and because the concealer is on the thinner side it is very hard to get the product to move anywhere. The second time around I think I had better luck and generally liked how it looked. Overall not my favorite thing ever but ok. I think I am going to use this concealer to try baking. When I do I will post about it!

Josie Maran Argan Creamy Concealer Crayon in Medium 2 ($20)

Screen Shot 2015-07-17 at 9.06.21 PM

Anyone who knows me knows that I am hugely into contouring. I have used cream based products and powders and I have seen a bunch of people using concealers and pencils in the process so I had to try it out. I was really disappointed because the pencil is really not even close to being darker than my skin when applied and it doesn’t work very well for contouring (hopefully in the winter!). I might use it as a base before powder for now but along with not being the right color it doesn’t blend very well. I don’t think I will buying it in the darker shade.

Bite Beauty Frozen Berries Matte Creme Lipstick in Plum ($24)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. love.

I have pretty fully completed my collection of Maybelline lipsticks so I am trying to move my attention to some other brand. Eventually I am thinking I will go with MAC but for now I will be buying all of the colors of this lipstick. Unfortunately there is only 5 =( . This lipstick is extremely long lasting, highly pigmented. Just perfect. Now if only they would make liners…

Sephora Collection Full Action Waterproof Extreme Effect Mascara ($12)

Screen Shot 2015-07-17 at 9.07.38 PM

I am really annoyed with myself for getting this mascara in the waterproof version because I hate waterproof and this mascara happens to be awesome. I think I like lengthening mascara more than a volumizing one, and while this one is the latter it is great.
